PARSWOOD™ BF series backwashable lenticular depth filter modules are designed for clarification and polishing of process liquids. Cellulose-based depth media and a reinforced polypropylene support structure allow reverse-flow backwashing to help remove retained contaminants and potentially extend service life.

Selection summary

  • Applications: Beer, wine, spirits, juice, sweeteners and syrups; prefiltration ahead of fine or membrane filters.
  • Media: Cellulose, diatomaceous earth and resins.
  • Filtration grades: Eleven nominal grade ranges, from 0.1–0.3 µm to 50–60 µm.
  • Module diameter: 12 inches.
  • Filtration area: 1.0 m² for 9-cell modules; 1.8 m² for 16-cell modules.
  • Connection: DOE with flat gasket.
  • Seal options: Silicone, EPDM, NBR and FKM.
  • Availability: Request a quotation and current lead time.

Operating limits

Maximum filtration temperature is 80°C. Maximum filtration differential pressure is 3.0 bar at 25°C or 1.0 bar at 80°C.

Water backwashing requires an appropriate backwash device, with a maximum water temperature of 60°C and maximum reverse differential pressure of 0.5 bar.

Steam-in-place rating: 125°C for 30 minutes, up to three cycles. This rating is separate from backwash service life.

Product selection

Choose the media grade, seal and cell count to suit your process and housing. These are nominal depth-filtration grades intended for clarification and prefiltration.
